Version 6.5: Smarter Conversions, Faster People Hub & New MS Calendar Connections

The ever-growing team here at Sprocket 365 are excited to announce the release of version 6.5!

This update focuses on performance improvements, smarter document management, and better integration with Microsoft Teams - helping users work faster and more efficiently when delivering bespoke functionality for your organisation's digital workplace on SharePoint.

Our release notes section has the complete list of enhancements and fixes for you, but let's take a look at three of the major enhancements. These are going to make you very happy.

Document > Page Converter Enhancements

Managing and publishing documents (as SharePoint pages) just got a whole lot easier.

Bulk Document Conversion: You can now select and convert multiple documents at once from a SharePoint document library, instead of handling them one by one. Beautiful.

You can also choose you Publish Settings. During conversion, you can decide whether to automatically publish the new pages or leave them unpublished. Leaving pages unpublished gives admins the chance to make final changes, move the page to the correct spot in the nav tree and publish it manually when ready.

Heads Up: By default, documents will still publish automatically - unless this option is disabled.

Advantage: This improvement streamlines document management workflows, saving valuable time and giving admins greater control over how and when content is published.

Major People Hub Performance Overhaul

The People Hub has undergone a major rebuild — especially for larger organizations.

  • Up to 5x Faster Load Times: Organizations with over 1,000 users will now experience dramatically faster performance.
  • Support for Large User Bases: Thank you to the Sprocket 365 community for your feedback; we love it! Our customers with over 1,500 users previously had issues and reached out to us. People Hub now loads smoothly and reliably for you!
  • Org Chart View Rebuild:
    • Improved speed and performance.
    • Lazy Loading: Only shows certain levels initially, allowing you to expand levels as needed.
    • New Navigation View: Change the layout and interact more easily with the org structure.
    • Reliable Export Functionality: Whatever is shown on the screen now exports correctly - no more inconsistencies.
  • Persona Cards Integrated:
    • Everywhere profile pictures are displayed, you'll now see Microsoft's persona cards (the same ones used in SharePoint and Teams).
    • Available across the Org Chart, Org Browser, and Directory View.
People Hub performance in Version 6.5

Advantage: Managing large directories is now faster, smoother, and more reliable - helping admins and users get the information they need without frustration.

Calendar Web Part: Now Supports Microsoft Teams Group Calendars

Keeping track of company-wide events just got more flexible.

The Upcoming Events and Calendar web parts can now connect to Microsoft Teams group calendars, not just SharePoint events.

This gives teams more options for managing events, meetings, and activities.
